What's the story?

"The Samoan Submission Machine" Samoa Joe recently posted a picture on Instagram which shows him covered in blood over the years, and gave an insight on bleeding in pro wrestling.

In case you didn’t know…

Samoa Joe is one of the most well-known and experienced wrestlers. Joe established himself in ROH from the promotion's beginning, and then later moved to TNA (now Impact Wrestling).

He also wrestled internationally and on the independent circuit for various promotions, winning several titles, before signing for WWE's developmental territory NXT in 2015. After joining the Raw main roster in 2017, he headlined Extreme Rules, Great Balls of Fire and Summerslam pay-per-view events.

The heart of the matter

Joe posted the following pic and with the picture, he wrote the following message :

"Despite the safeguards and precautions you may take, it is an inevitability".

Joe explained that injuries and bleeding in the pro wrestling business are inevitable, despite all the precautions and safety measures taken by the company and can occur at the most unexpected time.

What’s next?

Samoa Joe is expected to make a return near the end of October after sustaining an injury. His return will be his first television appearance since post-SummerSlam's Raw as reported by Wrestling Observer.

He could return at Raw's (TLC) Tables, Ladders and Chairs pay-per-view. Joe could aim for the Universal Championship after returning from his injury.

Author's take

Samoa Joe is a veteran in the wrestling business, having worked all across the world and seen various injuries in his storied career.

He knows about bleeding and injuries better than half of the current WWE roster. By this post, it looks like he is not scared of blood and will continue to dominate for years to come.
