WWE WrestleMania 33 News: Samoa Joe's VIP signing session cut short due to lack of interest

Bad News for Joe

What's the story?

The VIP Signing session of Samoa Joe at WrestleMania Axxess was wrapped up thirty minutes early due to the lack of ticketed fans.

In case you didn't know...

Despite being a major name on the Monday Night Roster. Samoa Joe is not booked for a match at WrestleMania 33. Joe’s exclusion from the card has raised some eyebrows and though he is not booked, rumours suggest that Joe could have a role to play on Sunday night.

Joe’s association with Triple H means that he could be involved in the Triple H–Seth Rollins match at the pay-per-view. WWE is advertising Joe vs. Rollins for some post-WrestleMania Live events and this is another fact that points towards Joe possibly crossing paths with Rollins at WrestleMania.

The heart of the matter

WWE had to wrap up the VIP signing session of Joe due to the lack of attendees. WrestlingInc posted pictures of Joe leaving the session early on their Instagram account.

Later, the extra space from Joe’s area was used to cover the overflow of fans that were waiting for Roman Reigns and Nikki Bella. Fans came in huge numbers for the sessions of Reigns and Nikki and they were reportedly in line 1.5 hours earlier than the scheduled time.

What's next?

The fact that Joe is relatively new to the roster could be the reason for the underwhelming number of attendees and since he seems to be Triple H’s man, it is highly unlikely that this will affect his career.

Author's take

Joe does not have a match at WrestleMania and his road to WrestleMania seemed like a half-baked one, so you can’t blame Joe for what happened. Elsewhere, Roman Reigns and Nikki Bella doing good numbers is something to be happy about. Reigns, in particular, continues to show that he can bring in the fans despite being a polarising figure.
