WWE News: Sasha Banks on which WWE legend "slid into her DM's"
What's the story?
Sasha Banks revealed in an interview with Her Take that after a match that she had, a certain WWE legend "slid into her DM(Direct Message)"(presumably on Twitter or Instagram)
In case you didn't know...
The Boss is currently a 4-time RAW Women's Champion, failing in all her first title defences to retain the title. As a result, all her reigns have been short, and she has been outspoken about the creative frustrations on the main roster.
Her best-known match to date is perhaps her match against Bayley at NXT Takeover: Brooklyn 2 years ago, where she and The Hugger put on an absolute clinic in a match that is till date considered by many to be the best women's match in WWE history.
Sasha has a reputation for constantly putting on good matches and being among the top female wrestlers in North America. Unfortunately, WWE has never gotten behind her for a long title run.
The heart of the matter
In the interview, Sasha Banks revealed that it was none other than the legendary Stone Cold Steve Austin that slid into her DMs on Twitter or Instagram after she had a match. She revealed this when asked who she would choose between Stone Cold and The Rock.
I love both, but I'm gonna have to choose Stone Cold Steve Austin, just because he slid into my DMs one time. (laughs) And when he did he was just saying how good a match was and I just remember freaking out.
The match she's referring to is likely the match against Bayley at NXT Takeover: Brooklyn. Stone Cold has been a vocal fan of the match, and whenever he speaks about it, you can hear the enthusiasm in his voice. In an episode of The Steve Austin Show with Bayley, he discusses and breaks down the match with her. You can hear Stone Cold being a big mark for the match at the episode.
You can hear Sasha's full interview with Her Take below:
The Boss has a huge match ahead of her at No Mercy when she takes on Alexa Bliss, Nia Jax and Emma for the RAW Women's Championship. She's not expected to win the match, however.
It is safe to assume that Stone Cold DM'd Sasha Banks for the match at Takeover: Brooklyn. It's great to see Austin in full support and appreciation for the young talent of today.
He has been vocally supporting the women of WWE, and it looks like he will continue following them closely as time goes.
