The heat is real!
The heat is real!

What's the story?

Many in the WWE Universe have longed for a confrontation between the Four Horsewomen of WWE and the Four Horsewomen of MMA, ever since they had a confrontation during the Mae Young Classic tournament.

The heat is more intense than ever between the two factions. WWE Superstar Sasha Banks referred to the Four Horsewomen of MMA as 'phoney'. She did this in an interview with Bleacher Report, and we bring you her quote via Cageside Seats.

In case you didn't know...

Ronda Rousey, Jessamyn Duke and Marina Shafir were at ringside, during the Mae Young Classic, to show their support for tournament finalist, Shayna Baszler, who is the fourth of the Horsewomen.

They have multiple confrontations against the Four Horsewomen of WWE, first at ringside and later, in a big segment that took place backstage.

The heart of the matter

Despite the fact that most of the internet wrestling community wants to see a match between the two groups, Sasha Banks had this to say:

I got to see the picture of our Horsewomen versus the phoney Four Horsewomen. They're fans of us. That's why they're called the Four Horsewomen. Honestly, I do not care. They couldn't hang in our ring and that's it.

Banks also spoke out in support of the Mae Young Classic and said she cried when she found out she wouldn't be part of it, because of a PR Tour she was part of in Australia. She thought that the experience was 'special'.

What's next?

It would be very interesting indeed to see Ronda Rousey or any of the Four Horsewomen react to Sasha Banks' comments. A match is certain in the future, and Sasha Banks is sowing the seeds for it.

Author's take

Sasha's comments have paved the groundwork for an enticing confrontation. If these groups do collide at Survivor Series or WrestleMania 34, the clash will be absolutely legendary
