What's the story?

Former Raw Women's Champion Sasha Banks recently spoke with the Times of India and during her interview "The Boss" talked about a host of wrestling related topics, including her favourite match on the main roster so far, her rivalry with Charlotte Flair and more.

In case you didn't know...

Sasha Banks first made her WWE debut in 2012 as a part of WWE's developmental brand of NXT. During her NXT run, Banks had one of the most memorable feuds against Charlotte Flair and the two women also faced each other on numerous occasions on NXT TV, including a women's title match at NXT TakeOver: R Evolution in which Sasha eventually failed to capture the championship despite putting up a valiant effort.

However, on 11th February 2015, Banks won her first NXT Women's Championship when she defeated Charlotte, Bayley, and Becky Lynch at NXT TakeOver: Rival. In that match, "The Boss" pinned her biggest rival Charlotte.

Later that year, Banks would officially get her main roster call-up and would go on to continue her feud with Charlotte on Raw. The two ladies also headlined the first-ever women's Hell in a Cell match in 2016 and competed in a 30-minute Iron Man match as well.

The heart of the matter

During her interview with Times of India, Banks discussed a host of wrestling related topics and here are a few highlights:

Sasha Banks stated that her favourite main roster match so far has to be her Wrestlemania 32 triple threat against Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch. Banks claimed that the triple threat match at Wrestlemania 32 had significant meaning to it, because of WWE introducing the brand new Women's Championship in place of the Divas Title.

Sasha claimed that her rivalry with Charlotte Flair has been non-stop and it is something that no one can match-up with. The 25-year-old then added that her Falls Count Anywhere match against Charlotte on Raw was also one of her favourite matches, due to Banks winning her second championship in that match.

The former Raw Women's Champion also claimed that Paige's return was a 'deja vu' moment for her due to Paige being accompanied by Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville. Banks then added that while Paige was gone for a year, she was busy breaking down doors and creating history.

"Paige was gone for a whole year while I was here breaking down doors, creating history. But welcome back, Paige."

What's next?

Sasha Banks current focus is on Paige and her faction, Absolution. The trio of Mandy, Deville, and Paige have been put the entire Raw women's locker room on notice with their sneaky attacks but it seems like "The Legit Boss" along with her fellow Raw associates will look to stand united in the war against Absolution.

Author's Take

Sasha Banks' rivalry with Charlotte Flair remains as one of the most iconic women's rivalries in modern WWE history. The two women have put up some of the most classic matches in the past.
