What's the story?

Six Superstars from the ranks of NXT made their main roster debuts during the Women's Battle Royal Match when Dakota Kai, Taynara Conti, Kairi Sane, Bianca Belair, Peyton Royce and Kavita Devi entered the match for a chance to be crowned the first ever Women's Battle Royal winner.

In case you didn't know...

These six women were surprise entrants in the match joining the fourteen already announced to be competing in the inaugural WrestleMania Women's Battle Royal. They joined the likes of Bayley, Sasha Banks, Becky Lynch, Naomi, Absolution and Riott Squad.

The heart of the matter

Becky Lynch, Bayley and Sasha Banks got entrances to the match whilst the six ladies from NXT, Conti, Kai, Sane, Royce, Belair and Devi entered with the rest of the group. They started the match by teaming up with the rest of the competitors to eliminate Carmella and Dana Brooke.

However it wasn't long before these six women, making their debuts on the main roster at 'The Grandest Stage of Them All' of all places, started carving their own path and making their mark on the WWE by teaming up and eliminating several of the main roster Superstars.

The six women picked up Superstars one by one and teamed up to wear them down and eliminate them, even being responsible for the end of both active members of Absolution, Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville.

However, the NXT group would come undone when the Riott Squad would get their act together slowly sending the women from the yellow brand to the outside, with Peyton Royce being the last women from NXT to be eliminated in the match.

What's next?

Peyton Royce is definitely long overdue a call-up, however, the rest of the women are fairly green and new still, especially the likes of Taynara Conti and Kavita Devi who haven't been with NXT for too long.

Author's take

It was a scrappy and messy match with some great moments, one of which was seeing the six ladies from NXT working together to show everyone at WrestleMania that they can give anyone from the main roster a run for their money.
