WWE News: Shawn Michaels is the new head coach of the Performance Center

HBK moved to Orlando

Kevin Nash, Scott Hall, and Sean Waltman(X-Pac) were recently on The Kevin Gill Show. During the interview, they were asked about Shawn Michaels being a coach at the WWE Performance Center. Michaels had reportedly sold his ranch in Taylor County, Texas to move to Orlando, where the WWE Performance Center is located.

Nash mentioned that Shawn Michaels replaced Matt Bloom (Albert/A-Train/Lord Tensai) as the head coach. He asked, “How many people, including the two guys to my left, know that the new Head of the WWE Performance Center is Shawn Michaels?” While Scott Hall said that he knew, Waltman could not believe that Michaels would shift from Texas to Florida to take up the role.

Kevin Nash then confirmed that Michaels and his family were moving to Florida. He praised Michaels’ wrestling psychology, saying that it’s going to be a game changer at the Performance Center. Nash mentioned that he had no idea how much they are paying Michaels, but noted that it must be a lot given that it is a 9-5 job. Waltman then interjected saying that whatever they pay him is a bargain regardless.

Michaels was recently in Orlando and took the Performance Center staff and trainees for a private screening of the movie “Hacksaw Ridge” :

The rumors of Shawn Michaels being offered the role of head coach at the Performance Center had surfaced months ago around the time of NXT Takeover: Brooklyn. Triple H had addressed it in a conference call stating that he was trying to bring him in as much as he could, and it was still not decided as to whether he was going to accept the role and shift to Florida or not.
