What's the story?

During the interview, WWE legend Shawn Michaels stated if he had to choose, he'd like to wrestle Triple H or The Undertaker one last time. He also expressed his admiration for Finn Balor and AJ Styles.

In case you didn't know...

HBK wrestled his last match at WrestleMania XXVI against The Undertaker. After putting on one of the greatest matches in pro wrestling history, HBK was convinced that he could beat The Undertaker since he was so close at WrestleMania XXV. This led to him putting his career on the line against The Undertaker's WrestleMania win streak.

The heart of the matter

When it came to the legends on the WWE roster, HBK stated that once again he'd like another round with The Undertaker and Triple H. HBK admits that the WWE Universe has seen those matches several times, but it's one of those comfortable things for him and he knows that it would be a lot of fun.

When it came to picking someone from the current WWE Superstars, HBK said it is a toss-up between AJ Styles and Finn Balor. HBK stated that either one of those matches would be "very unique."

However, it must be noted that Michaels is happily retired and probably will not wrestle again.

What's next?

It is unknown what is next for HBK after his appearance with DX at Raw 25 where he landed a few superkicks on The Revival and The Miz at the Manhattan Center.

As for the WWE, it's Royal Rumble weekend in Philadelphia. The action kicks off on Saturday with NXT Takeover. Andrade Cien Almas will take on Johnny Gargano for the NXT Championship.

The Royal Rumble is on Sunday with the women having a Royal Rumble match for the first time, in addition to the men. Both major championships will be defended as well with AJ Styles taking on Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn in a handicap match as well as Brock Lesnar taking on Kane and Braun Strowman for the WWE Universal Championship.

Author's take

I can speak for the WWE Universe when I say that I would love to see HBK take on any of those four men he mentioned if it meant another match in the WWE. He's still in phenomenal shape, but I don't expect him to wrestle ever again. I think he's at peace with the way his career ended.
