WWE News: Tye Dillinger featured in SmackDown Live dark match

T
The Perfect 10 was in action before the show even started

What's the story?

Tye Dillinger and Mike Kanellis didn't feature on SmackDown Live this week, but fans in the Van Andel Arena got a pretty nice surprise as these two locked horns before the show went live around the world.

In case you didn't know...

If you ever go to a WWE television taping, it's always a good idea to show up early and wait until the end of the show because you never know when you could be treated to an unexpected match.

The heart of the matter

Before SmackDown Live went on the air, the fans in attendance in Grand Rapids, MI at the Van Andel Arena got to see Tye Dillinger vs Mike Kanellis.

These two are much better than their position on the SmackDown roster and these two kicked off the show the right way with an exciting match. After all, "The Perfect 10" is very popular.

Dillinger ended up winning this dark match encounter to get the fans in the right mindset before the show officially got underway.

What's next?

Tye Dillinger went from being put in a triple threat match at Hell In A Cell to not appearing on the following episode of SmackDown Live.

It really is a shame, but he's still very popular with the fans, so hopefully, Dillinger will get back into a main storyline very soon.

Author's take

Your favourite Superstar can't be featured on the show every week if you're rooting for people who aren't cemented to the top of the roster. I was extremely excited to see Tye Dillinger places in the US Title match at Hell In A Cell but then that anticipation diminished considerably when I realised he was probably just in the match in order to take a pinfall and that's exactly what happened.

Mike Kanellis also a guy who deserves better but WWE seems to be killing his "Power Of Love" gimmick and hasn't really given it much of a chance since his debut.
