This week's edition of WWE Raw concluded with Absolution finally having their first match as a trio on WWE's flagship television show. Paige, Mandy Rose, and Sonya Deville faced off against Sasha Banks, Mickie James, and Bayley in a pretty short encounter.

The match actually had no real ending because the referee called for the bell when Absolution wouldn't get out of the ring while they continued an assault on Sasha Banks. Then the babyfaces had some help in the form of Nia Jax.

The former NXT standout attacked Absolution and even delivered a double Samoan Drop to Rose and Deville, but it was just enough of a distraction for Paige to take advantage.

The Anti-Diva chopblocked Jax' knee under her, so when Rose and Deville got to their feet, they immediately joined in on putting the boots to The Rock's cousin.

Suddenly, the rest of the Raw Women's Division, including Alexa Bliss who hadn't been featured at all during the show, ran down to put the Absolution in their place. A brawl broke out until Stephanie McMahon's music hit and The Billion Dollar Princess made her way to the ring.

The Commissioner of Raw proposed that the women in WWE break some more ground to kick off 2018 before announcing that, on January 28th, WWE would hold the first-ever Women's Royal Rumble match in Philadelphia.

Everyone in the ring was excited, including Alexa Bliss which is odd seeing how she's the current Raw Women's Champion. But regardless of who carries the title, this is still a huge announcement and means a lot to the progression of women's wrestling.

This is a very big announcement and really makes the 2018 Royal Rumble an even more important event.
