WWE Hall of Famer ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin recently appeared on Lilian Garcia’s Making Their Way To The Ring where he explained why he does not want to work full-time with the WWE.
In case you didn’t know…
The last time Steve Austin was seen inside a WWE ring was at WrestleMania 32 last year where he joined Shawn Michaels and Mick Foley as they confronted The League of Nations, a former WWE stable consisting of Rusev, Alberto Del Rio, Wade Barrett and Sheamus.
Austin delivered stunners to Rusev and Barrett as the legendary trio cleared the ring. The New Day entered the ring and joined them in celebration. However, their joy was short-lived as Xavier Woods became the third recipient of a Stone Cold stunner on the night.
The heart of the matter
‘The Texas Rattlesnake’ cited his unwillingness to travel as the reason for him not wanting to work full time with the WWE. He claimed that he is extremely passionate about the business and that he did not leave to get into acting but because he wanted to quit professional wrestling.
Here’s what the 6-time WWF champion had to say:
“I don't like to travel anymore Lilian. I'm very passionate about the business, it's what I wanted to do with my life, it's the only thing I wanted to do. I didn't want to come out here and get into acting, I did it because I had to get out of the business of pro-wrestling.”
The iconic WWE Superstar added that after returning to normal life, wrestlers generally tend to lose interest in travelling so much. Austin told Lilian Garcia this:
“But my point is when you turn back into what I call civilian mode, you know, you kind of lose all that interest in traveling.”
What next?
It’s been over a year since ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin’s last WWE appearance and the WWE Universe can’t wait for him to make a return.

Steve Austin is arguably the greatest Superstar in the history of the WWE and gave a lot to the business during his tenure as a professional wrestler. Although the fans would love for him to take up a full-time role with the company, Austin has a valid reason for not doing so and it must be respected.
