In what has caught the WWE Universe off guard, Shane McMahon has officially announced AJ Styles vs. Jinder Mahal with the WWE Championship up for grabs for next's taped SmackDown Live episode from Manchester, England.

Shane McMahon took to Twitter make the big announcement:

The Modern Day Maharaja could pay a heavy price for his assault on AJ Styles after the former WWE Champion's win over Samir Singh on last week's SmackDown.

The Phenomenal One was originally scheduled to take on Rusev in a Survivor Series qualification match on the upcoming episode, and as of this writing, there is no word yet on the status of the bout.

Jinder Mahal is scheduled to take on Brock Lesnar at Survivor Series in a Champion vs. Champion match. AJ Styles could prove to be a saviour of sorts if he ends up winning the WWE title for the second time in his career next week.

Styles reacted to the SD Live's Commissioner's announcement and sent out a warning to Mahal and his cronies:

But that isn't the only title change that could happen on the same episode as Chad Gable and Shelton Benjamin will take on the Usos for the SmackDown tag team straps.

The upcoming SmackDown episode from the UK promises to change the dimensions of the Survivor Series card.
