WWE News: The Bar put away yet another top team on Raw

The Bar
The Bar are running out of competition

What's the story?

Over the past few weeks, The Bar have been boasting that there is "no competition" for their Tag Team Championships in the Raw Tag Team Division.

Well, this week, The Revival got the chance to seal a WrestleMania match for the gold against Sheamus and Cesaro, all they had to do was beat them on WWE Raw.

In case you didn't know...

Sheamus and Cesaro were thrown together by former RAW General Manager Mick Foley after both complained that they were being underutilised in WWE. Foley pitted both against one another in a best of seven series, stating that the winner would get a title match.

After it finished a dead draw when the final match finished in a no contest, and instead both got a title shot when Foley teamed them up together. The rest is history as Sheamus and Cesaro are now four-time Raw Tag Team Champions, and claim to be running out of the competition.

The heart of the matter

Well, The Revival were given the chance to seal a WrestleMania match against Sheamus and Cesaro in New Orleans for the Raw Tag Team Champions.

Dash and Dawson have had an impressive few weeks and indeed boast an even more impressive resume, which sealed their match against The Bar in the first place.

So, Kurt Angle gave The Revival the chance to earn a WrestleMania match - and one that would see them compete for the Tag Team Championships.

All they had to do? Beat said Tag Team Champions on Raw.

Well, Sheamus and Cesaro continued their impressive streak - and eliminated any chance of The Revival challenging them at WrestleMania.

In fact, Sheamus even took to Twitter immediately after the match to tweet out this...

What's next?

Sheamus and Cesaro have looked incredible as a tag team and are truly a dominant force and one of the best teams in WWE. They've now run through every team on Raw, and it looks like WWE are building to a surprise opponent at WrestleMania, but the big question is... Who?

Author's take

It's the one place SmackDown is undoubtedly much more stacked than Raw, but WWE definitely look like pulling a surprise out of the bag here.

Will we see a team drafted over from SmackDown? Maybe even an NXT call-up? Or a newly formed team of two singles stars? This one is wide open. In fact, The Hardy Boyz made a monumental comeback last year, if Jeff returns, maybe we get Woken Matt Hardy and Brother Nero competing for the Championships.

There are plenty of great teams on SmackDown who could jump ship, though, with New Day, Benjamin & Gable and Bludgeon Brothers all sans gold - and both AOP and SAnitY are due a call-up from NXT. One thing is for sure, this is making some exciting viewing.
