What’s the story?
The duo of Primo and Epico will now have a new theme music to compliment their entrance on WWE Smackdown. WWE Music released a video on their official YouTube channel which will now serve as the entrance theme for the Colons. The song is titled ‘The Colons - Primos’ and has been composed in WWE Studios by CFO$.
With the new theme song, the makeover is complete for the Colons who ditched their goofy Shining Stars gimmick when they made their way to WWE Smackdown LIVE during the Superstar shakeup.
In case you didn’t know...
The Colons have been associated with the WWE for a while now. Carlos Colon was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2014. Epico and Primo have also been in the WWE as the Los Matadores alongside El Torito.
They made their way to Smackdown LIVE during the superstar shakeup when they attacked American Alpha after the latter’s match with the Usos. Primo and Epico attacked Jordan and Gable who had just lost to the Usos.
The heart of the matter
Last year, Epico and Primo had joined forces to appear on Monday Night RAW as the Shining Stars. Video packages to hype their debut were aired weeks before their actual debut on RAW. They were presented as the arrogant heels promoting their homeland of Puerto Rico.
However, the change of gimmick did not turn around their fortunes and the duo languished in the undercard.
The superstar shakeup witnessed a shift in the attitude of the Colons who claimed that they were in the WWE to carry on their glorious legacy. The Colons then went on to defeat former WWE Smackdown Tag Team champions The American Alpha the next week in a tag team encounter.
What’s next?
The Colons competed against Breezango this past Tuesday on Smackdown LIVE. They continue to be one of the integral tag teams of the blue brand and will continue to feature regularly on TV for team blue.

The Colons are now working with a gimmick that is better suited to them keeping in mind their family history in the business.
Smackdown has a history of making stars out of undercard and lower mid card wrestlers and the change in theme song may be just what the doctor ordered for the Colons to propel them into the tag team title picture in the near future.
