WWE News: The Miz speaks about why he is respectful to fans during all times

The
The Miz maybe the best heel on TV, but he's far from it outside the ring

What's the story?

The Miz was on Sam Roberts' Wrestling Podcast recently, where he addressed the topic that has been trending since Sasha Banks mentioned it: annoying fans. However, The Hollywood A-Lister showed nothing but respect to the fans.

He told Sam Roberts about his perspective and how he deals with fans when he's eating, or in early mornings at airports.

In case you didn't know...

The Miz is the current Intercontinental Champion in his 7th reign. He recently also became the 4th longest Intercontinental Champion and is just about two weeks away from surpassing The Honkey Tonk man to become the 3rd longest reigning IC champion of all time.

He was one of the key elements of SmackDown Live after the 2016 brand split and elevated himself and the Intercontinental Championship to the next level. His character work saw immense development like never before, and for the first time, the larger fan base acknowledged and appreciated The Miz for the talent that he is.

However, he was moved over to RAW a week after WrestleMania 33, and his presence has been sorely missed on SmackDown Live. Although he has been Intercontinental Champion for three of the five months since he came to RAW, it's clear that WWE does not plan to push him into the world title picture, something that looked increasingly likely on SmackDown Live.

Cody Rhodes has praised The Miz as one of the hardest workers in the company, saying he was on the level of John Cena when it came to media and everything.

The heart of the matter

When Sam Roberts asked The Miz about whether it was annoying dealing with fans at 5 am in the airport and other circumstances, The Miz refuted it, reasoning why he had no problem being courteous with fans most of the time.

I'm not that guy though. I just remember back in the day when my Dad took me to the Cleveland municipal stadium to see the Indians play and we would wait outside for players to come through and players would just walk by and there would just be one or two and it would make my day. I always remember that day. Whether it's an adult asking for an autograph or a kid, whether eating or doing something that I don't want to do - they want my autograph. It's a privilege and honour. I don't think I could ever get to a mode where I don't appreciate the person. Most of the time I'm always courteous to our audience, because they pay my bills.

It definitely is a huge testament to The Miz that he never forgot where he comes from. One can't blame the superstars if they refuse autographs or pictures with fans at airports when they are really tired or eating or something else.

However, The Miz gave a great approach to it and definitely made a lot of fans by saying this.

What's next?

The Miz will definitely have an interesting set of feuds going forward, Intercontinental Champion or not, but it's unlikely he'll reach the main event scene for a while since the RAW roster is crowded with several top talents.

Author's Take

It's really good on The Miz's part that he is constantly courteous to the fans even during times when he's tired or may not want to.

Naturally, Superstars are not obligated to deal with fans all the time, and sometimes we as fans tend to forgot that they can be really tired or may not want to take photos or sign autographs.

Miz is probably the best media person in the entire company apart from John Cena, and this interview only proves that more.
