What's the story?

Former WWE Superstar Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson sent a tweet in response to WWE Hall of Famer Sting tweet yesterday on Twitter in regards to the WWE 2K18 video game.

In his tweet, The Rock gave his opinion on which version of Sting was the best, following the WWE Hall of Famer asking fans which variant of his character they enjoyed the most in a Twitter video

In case you didn't know...

Sting is known for his legendary time in WCW (where he was a six-time World Champion), for his Hall of Fame time in TNA where he was a 4-time World Champion (also one-time NWA World Champ) and his late-career stint in WWE.

Sting became a WWE Hall of Famer in 2016 as the top inductee after his career ended following a neck injury.

'The Icon' is currently 58 years old.

The Rock is considered one of the greatest WWE Superstars of all time, for both his in-ring and on-mic skills. He was a 10-time World Champion.

After a long absence from the ring, Johnson came back to WWE in 2011 as a part-timer and had a two-year long feud with John Cena. The Rock has only wrestled once since then and his wrestling career seems over. However, he still sometimes makes sporadic appearances for the WWE.

The heart of the matter

Before Sting attended a WWE 2K18 launch event, he sent out this Tweet with a video in which he asked fans which era of Sting they liked the most.:

The Rock, with his WWE 2K18 connections and obviously being a Wrestling Great like Sting as well, responded to Sting's tweet by saying that his favourite era of Sting was in 1988/89. This was when 'The Icon' was announced to be from 'Every Man's Nightmare' early on in his career during his Jim Crockett Promotion and WCW days.

What's next?

The standard edition of WWE 2K18 is set for release on October 17, 2017. Both The Rock and Sting will be playable characters in the game.

Author's take

I loved this interaction between these guys. Wrestling tweets from The Rock are rare these days, so when he does tweet about it, they do not disappoint. Sting is also a great guy and I was a fan of most parts of his career, so The Rock could not have really given a wrong answer in my view.
