Are the two Samoans on a collision course?
Are the two Samoans on a collision course?

What's the story?

The Rock is a Superstar who has transcended the world of sports entertainment and moved on to the mainstream as Hollywood's biggest star. However, he still nurtures a love for the ring, and wants to get back in it someday.

"The People's Champion" was asked about his dream opponents at Stan Lee's L.A. Comic Con. He had some interesting words for a fellow Samoan.

In case you didn't know...

While The Rock and Roman Reigns may not be biologically related, they share a very special bond. Check out this comprehensive analysis of their relationship formed on the basis of a blood bond.

The last time we saw The Rock and Roman Reigns in the same ring was during the 2015 Royal Rumble, where even The Rock was drowned in a sea of jeers from the WWE Universe, following Reigns' victory. We wonder if that moment spurred his latest comments.

The heart of the matter

When the Rock was asked about his dream opponents, he named Triple H and Brock Lesnar, before saying the following (H/T Cageside Seats):

The other one would be a guy that actually just needs my foot in his a$$, Roman Reigns. Yeah.

It is interesting to note that when someone in the crowd suggested AJ Styles' name, The Rock turned the idea down.

Roman Reigns has spoken about wanting to face The Rock at WrestleMania as well. He called it a 'money match'.

What's next?

Roman Reigns is currently afflicted with a viral infection, although he's expected to be back in time for Survivor Series 2017.

As for "The People's Champion", he's continuously setting new benchmarks in Tinsel Town. We do not doubt at all that he'll be back in WWE someday soon.

Author's take

I'm down for a match between Roman Reigns and The Rock. I can see the program being very interesting indeed. I'm not nearly as excited about The Rock facing Triple H or Brock Lesnar, at this moment.
