WWE’s Monday Night Raw Preview has revealed three more matches scheduled to take place next week involving The Shield in singles action against Samoa Joe, Cesaro & Sheamus.

In case you didn’t know...

This week’s episode of Monday Night Raw featured Roman Reigns and Joe nearly coming to blows over the Intercontinental Championship, but Reigns defended the title against Jason Jordan instead.

The main event of the show was Cesaro & Sheamus defending their WWE Raw Tag Team Championships against Dean Ambrose & Seth Rollins, but the distraction from Samoa Joe cost the members of The Shield the titles.

The heart of the matter

WWE announced the No. 1 Contender’s match for the Cruiserweight Championship and Braun Strowman versus Kane prior to the new Raw Preview. However, the Raw Preview revealed that The Hounds of Justice would take on The Samoan Submission Machine and The Bar in three separate matches.

The following are the full list of matches announced for the Dec. 11 edition of Raw:

Braun Strowman vs. Kane
Roman Reigns vs. Cesaro
Dean Ambrose vs. Samoa Joe
Seth Rollins vs. Sheamus
Rich Swann vs. Drew Gulak (No. 1 Contender’s Match for the Cruiserweight Championship)

Ambrose and Joe will meet in singles competition for the first time ever while Reigns and Rollins will face former opponents in Cesaro and Sheamus respectively.

What’s next?

Also announced for next week was the further examination into “Woken” Matt Hardy and his feud with Bray Wyatt as well as further confrontations between Asuka and Absolution.

Next week’s Raw will be up against the NFL game between the New England Patriots and the Miami Dolphins that will begin 30 minutes into Raw’s broadcast and six NBA games, which may be a reason for the abundance of announced matches.

Author’s take

Many fans enjoyed this week’s episode for being grounded in in-ring action and it seems like the WWE will be trying this formula again.
