What’s the story?

Mae Young Classic contestant Jazzy Gabert has undergone a successful neck surgery earlier today, in order to repair the injuries that caused WWE to revoke her contract following an impressive performance at last year’s Mae Young Classic tournament.

In case you didn’t know…

Germany’s Jazzy Gabert was one of the standout performers during the inaugural Mae Young Classic tournament that took place last year. The stepdaughter of Japanese wrestling legend Masahiro Chono, made her debut for WWE when she went toe-to-toe with Abbey Laith during the first round of the MYC tournament, however, after a valiant effort, Gabert was eliminated in the first round of the tournament itself.

Gabert aka Alpha Female is a former Artist of Stardom Champion and also a former World of Stardom Champion as well—a title previously held by the likes of Mayu Iwatani, Io Shirai, and inaugural Mae Young Classic winner and NXT superstar Kairi Sane.

The heart of the matter

A recent update on Jazzy Gabert’s GoFundMe page has stated that the Alpha Female successfully underwent neck surgery earlier this week. Gabert is said to be in a great mood following her surgery and she is now all ready to tackle the road to recovery. 2018 is going to be a huge year for Alpha Female as she is prepared to get back into the wrestling world and once again make a name for herself in the best possible manner.

Here is an excerpt from the statement:

Jazzy had her neck surgery this morning and it was very successful. She is in great spirits and she is ready to tackle the road to recovery. 2018 is going to be a HUGE year for her on so many different platforms. Stay tuned.”

Following her triumphant surgery Gabert also posted a photo from the hospital bed where she seemed to be in great spirits. Furthermore, the 35-year-old has also written a blog post which read that: “I don’t know when or even if ever I can step back in the ring and start earning money again. Maybe I don’t even want to.”

What’s next?

From here on the road to recovery for the Alpha Female has already begun, as Gabert now looks forward to once again step inside the squared circle once she is done with her rehab.

Author’s Take

I think Jazzy Gabert is a massive talent and I totally believe that she will indeed be a perfect addition to the WWE Women’s roster. Much like Shayna Baszler, Sonya Deville, and Ronda Rousey; Jazzy also belongs from an MMA background and on top of that she also has a lot of experience in the Pro Wrestling field.
