WWE News: Top NXT UK star willing to challenge Asuka at WrestleMania 35

Who will face Asuka at WrestleMania?
Who will face Asuka at WrestleMania?

What's the story?

With both Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch focused on the Raw Women's Championship, current SmackDown Women's Champion Asuka is currently without a credible opponent heading into WrestleMania 35.

However, one woman who is seemingly determined to step up to the plate and challenge 'The Empress of Tomorrow' at The Grandest Stage of Them All is none other than 'The Nightmare', Rhea Ripley.

In case you didn't know...

Asuka won the SmackDown Women's Championship in a TLC Triple Threat Match back in December when she defeated both Charlotte Flair and dethroned 'The Man' Becky Lynch in order to win her first title on the main roster since being called up in 2017.

At the Royal Rumble pay-per-view, Asuka marked her first successful title defense beating Becky Lynch in order to retain her championship.

The heart of the matter

With WrestleMania 35 approaching, SmackDown Women's Champion Asuka is currently without an opponent against whom she can defend her title in what will mark her second WrestleMania appearance.

WWE themselves recently posted a photo on Twitter featuring the likes of Naomi, Lacey Evans, Carmella, Nikki Cross, and Mandy Rose, asking the fans who they feel is next in line for a shot at SmackDown Women's Championship.

One particular star who also had her say in this matter is non-other than former and first-ever NXT UK Women's Champion, Rhea Ripley, who by the following tweet made it pretty clear that she is more than willing to step up to the plate and challenge 'The Empress of Tomorrow' for her title in two months time.

What's next?

With Rhea Ripley dominating the NXT UK scene for the last few months now, this match will definitely get the WWE Universe invested and the former NXT UK Women's Champion also seems like a very credible challenger as well.

'The Empress' Asuka vs 'The Nightmare' Rhea Ripley has money written all over it if you ask me!
