What's the story?

In a recent interview with NBC Sports, WWE COO Triple H discussed his recent tour to India and gave an insight regarding his match against the former WWE Champion Jinder Mahal in New Delhi.

In case you didn't know...

WWE made their grand return to India last week, as they hosted a live event show in New Delhi. This was the first time since 2016 that WWE had stepped foot in India and this time the company had brought along the likes of The Shield, Samoa Joe, Alexa Bliss, Braun Strowman and more.

The show also featured many top matches including a first-time match between Jinder Mahal and Triple H.

The heart of the matter

During his interview with NBC Sports, Triple H stated that the WWE market in India is totally different and is very huge, which is something people don't realize.

"The Game" also added that there are certain people in the Indian market who have transcended the business for India and also claimed that the reason why he was put on the New Delhi card is due to marketing the product in India.

"We know what resonates in markets and we can see it in our numbers and see it in the research that our partners have done as well as on social media."

The 48-year-old additionally stated that he was really excited and happy to hear the reaction from the WWE Universe in India and it is something that he totally expected and claimed that his opponent that night, Jinder Mahal, also got a great reaction from the crowd.

According to "The Game" Jinder Mahal still has a long way to go and is still growing in the wrestling business and despite getting a massive reaction from the New Delhi crowd he still needs to earn the WWE Universe's reaction. The former DX leader ended the interview stating that Jinder Mahal is going to become a cultural icon for the Indian crowd, within a few years time. He added,

"The appreciation of him [Mahal] grew. It was all handled the right way and done in the right manner."

What's next?

Triple H is currently the senior producer of NXT and continues to do a great job as the head of WWE's developmental brand. As far as Hunter's in-ring career is concerned, it seems like the WWE Universe might have the chance to get to witness "The Cerebral Assassin" back in the squared circle, come Wrestlemania 34.

Triple H has been wrestling in a lot of top quality matches recently, the 14-time World Champion has recently faced off against Roman Reigns in an Intercontinental Champion match in Abu Dhabi, which was followed up by his win against Jinder Mahal in India the very next day.

"The Game" could once again be part of a star-studded match in New Orleans next year and could potentially face current Raw GM Kurt Angle at "The Grandest Stage of Them All".
