The Undisputed Era made their NXT debut at Takeover: Brooklyn

What’s the story?

WWE COO and NXT’s senior producer, Triple H recently sat down to have an interview with NBC Sports where he discussed a whole host of topics, including the trio of Adam Cole, Bobby Fish, and Kyle O’Reilly—together known as The Undisputed Era.

During his chat with NBC, “The Game” spoke about what makes The Undisputed Era so special and also gave his take on their rise in NXT.

In case you didn’t know…

At NXT Takeover: Brooklyn III, former Ring of Honor and New Japan Pro Wrestling stars Adam Cole, Bobby Fish, and Kyle O’Reilly made their WWE debut by attacking NXT Champion, Drew McIntyre.

During the event, Fish and O’Reilly also blindsided the Authors of Pain and Sanity, assaulting two of NXT’s top best tag teams.

The trio made their in-ring debut on October 18th, 2017, when they faced off against current NXT Tag Team Champions, Sanity, in a match which ended in a no-contest following interference from Authors of Pain.

On November 1, 2017, NXT General Manager William Regal confirmed the return of WarGames and stated that The Undisputed Era, Sanity, and Authors of Pain with Roderick Strong will go head-to-head with each other inside the caged structure in Houston, Texas.

The heart of the matter

While speaking with NBC Sports, Triple H praised Cole, Fish, and O’Reilly, and said that the three are massively talented performers, both inside the ring and on the mic. Triple H stated that the reason why he kept his faith on the trio and decided to give them the ball right away was because he thought that the former Ring of Honor superstars are hungry to learn more and have the desire and the passion to improve in this business.

“The Cerebral Assassin” also said that he got the chance to discuss a lot of things when he first spoke with the trio and believes that they’re the students of the wrestling business.

“The one thing I liked about those guys and why I was confident in ‘giving them the ball right off of the bat’ is because when we spoke and talked about things, they absorbed it. They’re sponges. They’re students of this. They want to learn”

The WWE COO stated successful Superstar are those who learn every day and are willing to learn different things from different people.

Triple H ended by stating that there are people in this business who are constantly willing to evolve and have the desire and hunger to learn every day.

What’s next?

The Undisputed Era will have to go through their toughest challenge to date when they face off against Sanity and Authors of Pain & Roderick Strong, this Saturday at NXT Takeover: War Games.

The trio will look forward to winning the War Games match in Dallas later this week and a victory will help make a great impact on the current NXT scene.

Seeing how impressed Triple H is with this faction, it is quite possible that the game might build a faction with these superstars when the time is right.

Author’s take

Triple H made the right choice by keeping his faith in The Undisputed Era and by giving them a push right off the bat. Cole, Fish, and O’Reilly are three of the most talented Superstars on the planet today and are capable of becoming the top guys in the WWE.
