WWE News: Triple H jokes with The Rock on Twitter about their history
What's the story?
WWE's Chief Executive Officer and 14-time World Champion, Triple H responded to The Rock's tweet about debuting in WWE 21 years ago.
The Game jokingly stated that 'most of' The Rock's 'big WWE moments somehow involve' him punching HHH in the face.
In case you didn't know..
Triple H and The Rock were two of WWE's most important Superstars during the WWE's Attitude Era back in the late 1990s and early 2000s, probably the most cherished time in wrestling history.
However, the two have taken very paths since, with The Rock going on to become the biggest movie star in the world, whilst Triple H has stayed loyal to WWE and is now the Executive Vice President of Talent, Live Events and Creative of the company.
The Rock made a return to WWE in 2011 as a part-timer, but since 2013, his appearances have become sporadic, with his last time on WWE TV back in 2016 at WrestleMania 32. This is obviously due to his filming schedule.
In 2014 and 2015, The Rock and Triple H did have a few segments with one another on TV, once for the 15th Anniversary of SmackDown.
It was teased at one stage that The Rock and HHH would possibly have a match against each another at WrestleMania 32, but it never happened.
The heart of matter
This latest public communication between The Rock and HHH, especially on the part of Triple H, definitely adds to the gossip and speculation that a match between them at 'The Grandest Stage of Them All' WrestleMania might actually happen one day.
Triple H mentioning previous physical confrontation with 'The Great One' in his tweet may have been a hint there is something in the works.
Triple H is part of Team RAW for the Men's 5-on-5 Elimination match at the Survivor Series PPV tonight from the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas, after he returned to TV for the first time since WM 33 on the Red Brand's Survivor Series go-home show.
RAW GM and Team Captain, Kurt Angle, Samoa Joe, Finn Balor and Braun Strowman RAW's other participants in the match against Team SmackDown's, Shane McMahon, John Cena. Bobby Roode, Randy Orton and Shinsuke Nakamura.
The Rock will continue his successful Hollywood career. If he were to ever wrestle again though, Triple H would be The Rock's most likely opponent, but that all depends on the blockbuster star.
The rumours of a Triple H vs. Rock WrestleMania match seems to be running rampant again lately, with HHH seemingly going out of his way to say he would love for it to happen.
To see these two legends go at it would be great stuff, and it is definitely worthy of a WrestleMania main event.
