What's the story?

Those gathered together to enjoy an ICW show in Cardiff were in for a surprise. A familiar theme song ushered in a surprise visit from none other than The King of Kings himself, Triple H.

As one would expect, the crowd reacted with shock and 'This is awesome' chants. Here is a glimpse of what went down.

In case you didn't know...

WWE is in the United Kingdom currently, for a series of Live Events as well as tapings for RAW and SmackDown Live. Triple H was part of this pack and dropped in for a visit to ICW, a promotion that WWE enjoys a great working relationship with.

Also in the ring at the time when Triple H made his appearance was Pete Dunne, who's the current WWE United Kingdom Champion.

The heart of the matter

Triple H greeted those in the arena with the following words:

Little bit busy right now. Just took a second to stop by. We're just down the road but I had to stop by.

Triple H also elaborated on the reason for his surprise visit, and not surprisingly it stems from his love for independent wrestling:

The truth is, this is where our business starts. Every single night, in a place like this, with guys like this, in a group like ICW.

The appearance was to show the solidarity of WWE with its partner promotion in ICW. The crowd was elated and greeted him with 'NXT' chants! Everyone certainly got their money's worth, on this night.

What's next?

We recently saw Triple H join Ambrose and Rollins as an honorary member of The Shield.

As WrestleMania season approaches, we wonder if Triple H will return to be part of yet another storyline, leading up to the Showcase of the Immortals, next April.

No WrestleMania is really complete without his elaborate entrances.

Author's take

This was a really cool thing to do. Triple H just showcased how important WWE's partnership with ICW really is. He also gave the fans a moment they'll never forget.
