WWE News: Triple H reveals how Ronda Rousey was different from other celebrity guests
What's the story?
Ronda Rousey had one of the greatest debuts in WWE history. Ahead of the Greatest Royal Rumble pay-per-view, Triple H caught up with Newshub.co.nz and spoke about how different Ronda Rousey was from every other guest.
Triple H and Rousey may have been at odds during WrestleMania 34, but it is clear that she has impressed the Cerebral Assassin. Triple H gushed with praise for Rousey during the course of the interview.
In case you didn't know...
After taking the world of MMA by storm, Ronda Rousey made a swift transition to WWE, first appearing as a guest at WrestleMania 31 and then in a full-fledged role following this year's Royal Rumble pay-per-view.
She took on Triple H and Stephanie McMahon at WrestleMania 34, where she teamed up with Kurt Angle. She was victorious in her very first match in WWE, ushering in a new era of the Women's Evolution.
The heart of the matter
Triple H explained the difference between Rousey and every other celebrity guest in the past:
She had no interest in coming in as a celebrity guest, she was looking to come in and be a WWE superstar. Ronda wants to be great at this; she wants to make this the bigger chapter of her career. She truly believes that everything she has accomplished prior to this was just a lead up to coming where she belongs and that is with the WWE.
Triple H then went on to explain why Rousey will be successful in sports entertainment:
The term 'world class athlete' gets thrown around a lot but the definition of world class athlete is Ronda Rousey. Her mindset is to be one of the best at what we do.
Rousey is making sporadic appearances on RAW these days. It's unclear who her next opponent will be. What we do know is that she's in some kind of storyline with Natalya.
Rousey's future is hard to predict and that's what makes it so interesting. I cannot wait to see where she will go next.
I also cannot wait to see her mix it up with some of the full-time talents in the current roster.
