WWE News: Tye Dillinger thanks the NXT Universe after show goes off the air

A ‘Perfect’ end to Tye Dillinger’s NXT run

What’s the story?

After exacting some revenge on SAnitY and, in particular, their leader Eric Young in a rare NXT steel cage match, Tye Dillinger had a special message for the fans in Orlando on his final appearance for the brand.

The background

Since debuting his ‘Perfect 10’ gimmick, Dillinger has become one of the most popular acts on the NXT roster and his ’10’ chants have hijacked not just WWE shows, but countless pro-wrestling events all around the world.

He was recently rewarded for his hard work and popularity with a call-up to the main roster on the post-WrestleMania edition of Smackdown LIVE.

The heart of the matter

In a wwe.com exclusive, Tye gave the NXT fans an emotional farewell speech and thanked them for getting behind his character and taking it to heights that he didn’t even think were possible.

Dillinger spoke of how he was given a second chance, despite the fact that his first run didn’t work out, and how he was able to make the most of it thanks to the rabid NXT fanbase.

What’s next?

Now that he is on SmackDown, Tye Dillinger has a chance to perform in front of a larger audience and take his career to new heights. He has made a strong start on the main roster and a large portion of the WWE Universe is behind him, I look forward to seeing him sink his teeth into his first full-fledged feud on the blue brand.

Author’s take

It’s great to see someone like Tye achieve his goal of making it to WWE’s main roster, I know he’s been here before but this time it feels like he’s really made it.

At 36 years old, it’s been a long time coming for him and you can tell from his speech at his last NXT appearance that he appreciates it. The ‘Perfect 10’ persona seems to have been the missing piece of the puzzle for Tye and he now looks ready to make an impact in WWE on Tuesday nights.
