What’s the story?

On an edition of FloCombat’s Top Turtle MMA podcast, undefeated UFC Heavyweight Arjan Bhullar opened up on a myriad of topics.

Bhullar noted that he would love to make the transition from UFC to WWE in the future. Besides, former WWE Champion Jinder Mahal’s close friend also spoke about the passion required in pro-wrestling competition.

In case you didn’t know…

Arjan Bhullar is a former Olympian who represented Canada in wrestling, besides also boasting a bronze medal at the 2007 Pan American Games in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil and a gold medal at the 2010 Commonwealth Games in Delhi.

Bhullar transitioned from amateur wrestling to MMA in 2014 and has notched up an undefeated pro-MMA record of 7-0.

The heart of the matter

Arjan Bhullar made his UFC debut at UFC 215 which took place in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada in September of last year; defeating Luis Henrique by way of Unanimous Decision.

Jinder Mahal was initially set to walk out his close friend, Bhullar, to the Octagon at the aforementioned UFC 215 event. However, Mahal couldn’t make it in time to Canada, as he was stuck in Florida due to Hurricane Irma.

Nevertheless, longtime professional wrestling fan, Bhullar spoke about having previously been close to signing with WWE—

"Down the road, anything can happen. I would love to be able to dip into (WWE).”

"I actually had that opportunity to go to the (WWE) development system down in Florida after the Olympics and before I committed to this MMA journey I'm on…You have to have the passion for that to be able to do it day in and day out."

What’s next?

Arjan Bhullar is set to fight Adam Wieczorek at the UFC on FOX 29 event which takes place in Glendale, Arizona on April 14th.

Meanwhile, Jinder Mahal is set to compete against United States Champion Randy Orton and Bobby Roode in a Triple Threat Match for the title at WrestleMania 34 which takes place on April 8th.

Author’s take

Arjan Bhullar is an excellent wrestler and, truly cerebral overall grappler.

Bhullar seems to be busy with his UFC obligations this year, however, given the volatile nature of the sport, he could potentially choose to jump ship to the world of sports-entertainment.
