What's the story?

The Undertaker took on Roman Reigns at least year's WrestleMania event and this week WWE released a documentary which went behind the scenes of the event where The Undertaker was able to share his thoughts surrounding his main event match.

In case you didn't know...

The Undertaker lost to Roman Reigns in the main event of last year's biggest show of the year and then proceeded to leave his entrance attire in the ring as he made his way back up the ramp. Many members of the WWE Universe thought this would be the last time they saw The Deadman in a WWE ring, but he recently appeared at Raw's 25th Anniversary to deliver a cryptic promo.

Many critics weren't happy about the match between Roman Reigns and The Undertaker, but his thoughts are quite interesting since he would have been aware that this was just the second time in almost three decades that he would be losing on the Grandest Stage Of Them All.

The heart of the matter

Undertaker was featured on the latest WWE 24: WrestleMania Orlando documentary and shared his thoughts with the WWE Universe whilst he was on his way to the arena.

He said "Running things through my mind. They say fighters can grow old in one fight, so hopefully this isn't that fight. Dealing with the numerous injuries that I work around, I'm not prepared physically as well as I could. That's kind of the big issue, just making sure there's always enough gas in the tank. One of my biggest fears is kind of becoming a parody of myself. They happen to buy a ticket to see Undertaker wrestle, they should get the best Undertaker I can give them. You always wonder when you walk into the dressing room, 'oh, here comes the old guy again.' Yeah, just an old guy who's not afraid to put a size 15 [shoe] up your ass if you get out of line."

Whilst Undertaker was seemingly looking at his career as a whole as he headed into what could have been the final match of his career, his opponent Roman Reigns saw things a little differently.

"This is the part where it's weird. Pinch me. It doesn't feel real. Am I still sleeping? We're about to go out in front of over 70,000 people and I'm going to be able to share the ring with The Undertaker. I'm going to live with this for the rest of my life." Reigns said, "you don't get many moments if ever in your life, so this is the third gigantic moment for me, but this is going to be the biggest."

What's next?

Undertaker's cryptic promo from Raw last week has left many of the WWE Universe wondering whether or not his rumoured match with John Cena is still set to take place at this year's WrestleMania, whilst Roman Reigns is still rumoured to be taking on Brock Lesnar for the Universal Championship.

Author's take

Undertaker is obviously worried about the end of his career and what the end will actually look like. He is a man who has been around the business for so long that he has no idea how to walk away and now he's worried that he has overstayed his welcome. It seems that the retirement announcement will definitely be coming soon, but many fans are interested in knowing whether or not he has one more match left in him at WrestleMania.
