WWE News: Update on CM Punk vs Chris Amann lawsuit
What’s the story?
On a recent edition of Live Audio Wrestling, Colt Cabana revealed that the lawsuit against him and CM Punk by WWE doctor Chris Amann, is still costing him a ton of money.
Additionally, Cabana emphasized that although he’s been disallowed by his lawyers to reveal any intimate details regarding the said lawsuit in public; he can confirm that the legal issues are indeed always on his mind and just an extremely sad thing.
In case you didn’t know…
Former WWE Champion CM Punk and popular indie wrestler Colt Cabana shared a great camaraderie outside the ring and are close friends in real life.
Punk quit the WWE and retired from the sport of professional wrestling in 2014, owing to concussion issues and went on record alleging workplace bullying and mistreatment not only by WWE management but also by the company’s medical staff.
The heart of the matter
Speaking of which, in an appearance on Colt Cabana’s podcast, CM Punk narrated an incident involving him and WWE’s Dr. Chris Amann, claiming that Amann refused to treat a nasty staph infection Punk suffered before he parted ways with the WWE.
It’s a well-known fact that Amann would go on to sue both Punk and Cabana, with their legal battle underway to date. Here are a few excerpts from Cabana’s statements regarding the same—
“The update is that it’s still going on, it’s costing me a lot of money, and that’s the extent that my lawyers will allow me to talk. So nothing breaking here.”
“But just do know that it’s always on my mind. It’s always a very sad thing.”
CM Punk is currently pursuing a career in MMA and is 0-1 in the UFC, whereas Cabana performs on the independent professional wrestling circuit.
On the other hand, Dr. Chris Amann presently serves as a Senior Ringside Physician for the WWE.
Well, this fight seems to be one that is nowhere close to its end.
I would love for all parties involved to bury the hatchet and get on with their lives. Whose side are you on? Team Amann or Team Punk/Cabana? Sound off in the comments!
