WWE News: Update on Darren Young's status

Mr. No Days Off is itching to return to the ring.

What’s the story?

WWE Superstar Darren Young, who suffered a serious injury in January of this year, has taken to social media to let the fans in on his rehabilitation.

In case you didn’t know...

Darren Young, whose real name is Frederick Douglas Rosser III, has performed for WWE since 2005, rising to prominence after 2010 as part of the Nexus. The 33-year old suffered a major elbow injury in a match where he teamed up with Sin Cara to compete against The Shining Stars (now re-branded as The Colons).

The heart of the matter

Young underwent surgery in the month of February in Birmingham, Alabama and reports stated that he’d be out of action for at least six months.

‘Mr. No Days Off’ addressed the injury whilst reassuring fans he’s well on his way to recovery:

What's next?

Darren Young is presently signed to WWE’s RAW brand and fans can expect to see him return to the squared-circle no sooner than August of this year.

Author’s take

For those of you who haven’t watched footage of the ill-fated match during which Young sustained the injury – a word of advice – don’t!

Darren Young’s elbow injury has got to be one of the most brutal mishaps I’ve ever witnessed in all these years as a professional wrestling fan. Agreed that it may not top what happened to Sycho Sid years ago, but still. Darren Young is one tough customer and we here at Sportskeeda hope he makes a quick and speedy recovery.
