WWE News: Rusev sings to Lana ahead of their MMC match

What’s the story?

In an interview with WWE's Rusev and Lana opened up ahead of their participation in the upcoming MMC tournament.

While Lana had words of high praise for Rusev, the Bulgarian Brute reciprocated not only with mutual admiration but a special song he came up with just for her. Fans can watch the Ravishing, albeit brief, performance below:

In case you didn’t know…

The WWE and Facebook have partnered up so as to bring fans the Mixed Match Challenge (MMC), a unique tournament featuring multiple teams; each comprising a male & female Superstar competing against another team, with the entire tournament being aired over a span of 12 episodes.

WWE recently announced that SmackDown Live Superstars Lana & Rusev will team up with one another for the MMC which takes place later this month.

The heart of the matter

The confirmation of real-life husband and wife Rusev & Lana as a team for the MMC has been met with significant praise from the professional wrestling community.

Addressing their upcoming partaking in the MMC, Lana asserted that Rusev is the ‘Super-Athlete’ and most popular Superstar in the WWE today. The Ravishing Russian added that their team is not only going to be Ravishing but also going to win.

Furthermore, while Rusev expressed his elation and happiness at being paired up with Lana, he broke into an impromptu musical performance, singing:“Lana is the best…Lana number-1,” constantly reiterating the phrase to a jovial beat.

What’s next?

The WWE’s MMC will air on Facebook Watch from January 16th onwards — with the winners of the tournament receiving a $100,000 prize that shall be donated to a charity of their choice.

As of this time, other teams participating in the tournament are Finn Balor & Sasha Banks, RAW Women’s Champion Alexa Bliss & Braun Strowman, and SmackDown Women's Champion Charlotte Flair & Bobby Roode.
