What's the story?

Wrestling Inc. is reporting that WWE CEO Vince McMahon has made the 2018 Forbes Billionaires List. It is the second consecutive year that McMahon has made this prestigious list.

In case you didn't know...

The annual World's Billionaires list was first published by Forbes in 1987. At that time, the richest man in the world was Yoshiaki Tsutsumi of Japan, who earned his fortune through real estate investments via his Seibu Corporation who specializes in the private railroad industry.

The heart of the matter

Forbes estimates Vince McMahon's worth to be $1.7 billion, which ranks him at #1394 on the billionaire's list. There were a total of 2124 billionaires in the world for 2018; the second straight year and the second time ever that there have been over 2000 billionaires.

Amazon's founder and CEO Jeff Bezos ranked first on the list with a net worth of $112 billion, followed by Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates in second with $90 billion, and Berkshire Hathaway's CEO Warren Buffett third at $84 billion.

Vince just missed the list in 2016 but was able to make it in 2017. In addition to the WWE, he founded Alpha Entertainment last November, who will oversee the relaunch of the XFL in 2020.

What's next?

Next up for Vince McMahon's WWE empire is WWE Fastlane live on the WWE Network this Sunday 11 March. The main event will see the WWE Champion AJ Styles take on John Cena, Sami Zayn, Kevin Owens, Baron Corbin, and Dolph Ziggler in a Six-Pack Challenge for the WWE World Championship.

Author's take

A big congrats to Vince for making the Forbes list once again. If he can continue to lead the WWE on the right track and achieve success with the XFL, he will be on that list for many years to come for sure.
