Sheamus took a nasty table bump!
Sheamus took a nasty table bump!

What's the story?

This week's WWE Raw from the Staples Centre in Los Angeles had a surprise dark match after the cameras stopped rolling. The Shield worked a 6-man tag team bout against The Bar & Samoa Joe and came out victorious in the contest.

In case you didn't know...

The main event of the latest episode of Raw saw The Bar put their Raw Tag Team Championship on the line against Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose. The match was marred in controversy as Sheamus first deliberately got himself disqualified and retained the titles.

Kurt Angle, however, came out and restarted the match and made it a no DQ bout, much to the frustrations of the champs. Just when the fans thought a title change could be on the cards, Samoa Joe appeared outta nowhere and attacked the babyfaces. Reigns came out to make the save but it was all too late as Sheamus took advantage of the chaos and pinned Dean Ambrose for the win.

The Shield, though, weren't going to end their night end in disappointment as they returned to the ring after the show went off the air and challenged the team of Cesaro, Sheamus and Joe.

The heart of the matter

The Hounds of Justice were in the mood to dish out a beating and that they did in brutal fashion. Rollins, Reigns, and Ambrose not only won the dark main event but also sent the Celtic Warrior crashing through a table.

What's next?

Incidentally, the dark main event of Raw is also the headliner for the WWE Supershow in India on December 9th. The Raw roster is expected to touch down in India in the next couple of days for what promises to be a historic show in which Triple H will go up against Jinder Mahal.

As for the storylines on TV, Joe and Reigns are set to feud for the IC title while it seems The Bar vs. Shield may go on for longer unless WWE introduces new challengers into the picture.

Author's take

Having the Shield stand tall over the heels was the perfect parting gift for the raucous LA fans The table spot was just an added bonus to a solid night of action.

While Raw could have better, which is always the case, it did have its moments that managed to hold the interest of the fans.
