WWE News: What happened after WrestleMania 33 went off the air

It's a sad day for wrestling fans everywhere!

After an emotional farewell and symbolic retirement that saw the Undertaker remove his gloves, hat and coat, and place it in the ring, we were left with the spine-chilling scene of the Deadman raising his hand one last time for the night as he was lowered down the ramp. After the cameras stopped rolling, however, the Phenom’s recently-removed ring attire lay in the ring.

According to a tweet that you can see below, the Phenom’s gear remained exactly where it was, even after the crowd began to vacate their seats and the arena and post-PPV ring work began.

Furthermore, the WWE opted to leave the legend’s trench coat, gloves and hat in the ring even more than thirty minutes after the cameras stopped rolling, as you can see in the tweet below.

It’s certain that this gesture is the promotion’s tribute to arguably one of its most prolific performers and puts the cherry on top of this bitter-sweet retirement. WrestleMania was probably the last time we got to the see this legend in action and the spectacle that was the spine-chilling disrobing, the subsequent reaction from the crowd and WWE’s aforementioned tribute, almost makes up for the fact that the Deadman has finally hung his gloves up.
