What’s the story?

In a recent edition of All Things Wrestling Radio, Cesaro recalled the time he went into Vince McMahon’s office and accepted the WWE boss’ challenge.

Additionally, Cesaro opened up on the real reason behind his infamous ‘Beach Ball’ tearing actions at SummerSlam earlier this year.

In case you didn’t know…

Vince McMahon had questioned Cesaro’s fan appeal back in 2014, in an interview wherein the boss made his infamous ‘brass ring’ comments and opined that the Swiss Superman lacks the ability to connect with the fans.

As for the other issue, Cesaro addressed, the Swiss Cyborg—while competing in a RAW Tag Team Championship match at SummerSlam alongside Sheamus against Dean Ambrose & Seth Rollins—ran into the crowd upon seeing a beach ball being bounced around by fans; and proceeded to tear the said ball to shreds.

The heart of the matter

In reference to his actions at SummerSlam, Cesaro elucidated that he and his fellow performers put their heart and soul into their match. However, a few fans chose to play with the beach ball rather than watch their match. He continued that although most fans often state that Cesaro is ‘underappreciated’, they proceeded to engage in juvenile antics such as the beach ball incident; owing to which he chose to send a message and rip the ball apart.

Furthermore, he emphasized that he has indeed used Vince McMahon’s ‘brass ring’ comments as motivation to improve himself, and resultantly ascended to more prominent segments since 2014, such as the RAW Tag Team title picture and more. He added—

"I was actually listening to it on the drive to the next city…I was not very happy about it to say the least because I couldn't disagree more.
The next day I walked into his office and said 'challenge accepted.' That's how I deal with things – head on…I'd like to say I've been doing pretty good so far."

What’s next?

Cesaro presently competes as part of the team known as ‘The Bar’ alongside former WWE Champion Sheamus, on the WWE’s RAW brand.

Author’s take:

Cesaro is one of the most hard-working, talented and optimistic Superstars in the WWE today.

It’s great to see Cesaro take criticism and mould it in his favour; evolving and improving rather than letting harsh words break him down. All hail the Swiss Superman!
