The heart of the matter
Michael Cole rarely misses a day off work. But this week's Raw from Denver's Pepsi Center will be missing a very familiar face and an even more recognisable voice.
According to WWE.com, The Voice Of WWE will be missing the Denver edition Raw in order to attend his son's wedding. This marks only the second time Michael Cole has missed a day of work in twenty years.
He will be replaced by SmackDown Live announcer Tom Phillips during his day off.
What's next?
Monday Night Raw will carry on because there's no offseason in WWE.
Next week's show is promoted to Braun Strowman vs Seth Rollins and an Intercontinental Title match between The Miz and Roman Reigns. But Michael Cole won't be there.
Although he'll be missed, Raw will still be in good hands with Tom Phillips, Booker T, and Corey Graves.
Author's take
Michael Cole started his career with WWE in very humble beginnings but in time he grew his position with the company both on and off screen. Now he finds himself in a very important role with the company, therefore, his absence will be felt.
But it's great to know WWE has no shortage of capable hands to fill in when someone needs the job done.
