WWE News: Women's match announced for Fastlane; could set up future Women's Championship match

Will this tag team match decide the future of the Women's Championship?

What's the story?

After a number of weeks away from the ring, WWE Superstar and winner of the Women's Money in the Bank match Carmella returned to face Becky Lynch this week on SmackDown Live, which then lead to a Tag Team match being set up between Carmella and Natalya against Naomi and Becky Lynch this Sunday night.

In case you didn't know...

Natalya has been out of the Women's Championship picture for a number of months now with Carmella still holding the Money in the Bank contract but seemingly also being pushed onto the sidelines.

The Women's Division has consisted of matches between The Riott Squad, Naomi, Charlotte and Lynch over the past few months which has kept the other women out of the loop, but it seems that Carmella is running out of time when it comes to cashing in that contract, which is why she has been brought back into the picture.

The heart of the matter

This Sunday night the team of Carmella and Natalya will take on Becky Lynch and Naomi; before this match was officially announced by the duo, Natalya stated that she will challenge the winner of the Women's Championship match at Fastlane.

Natalya was the woman who lost the SmackDown Women's Championship to Charlotte back in November as the two women, who have fought over every Championship available to the Women in WWE over the past few years, renewed their feud.

It is still thought that Asuka will challenge Charlotte Flair at WrestleMania, but if that match isn't going to happen then Charlotte up against Natalya would definitely be worthy of a slot on the WrestleMania card.

What's next?

Natalya and Carmella will fight Naomi and Becky Lynch on Sunday night, but whilst Natalya is hoping to challenge the winner of the Championship match, Carmella already has a shot at that Women's Championship in her hands, which could make the next few weeks quite tense for these new found friends.

Author's take

Natalya hasn't been seen on WWE TV for a while so it's great to see her back, as she is one of the most talented female wrestlers that the company has to offer. With Miss Money in the Bank now back on TV it seems that the Women's Championship picture could get a little bit crowded in the coming weeks.
