WWE News: Wrestlers reach out to Alexa Massaro and explain how we can help Ashley Massaro's daughter

What's the story?

Lillian Garcia, Mickie James, Lita, Gail Kim, Maria Kanellis, Candice Michelle, Taryn Terrell, Victoria, Christy Hemme, Trish Stratus, and several other female professional wrestling performers have opened up on the death of former WWE Superstar Ashley Massaro.

The aforementioned performers have set up a GoFundMe campaign, in order to cover the monetary requirements, for Massaro's 19 year old daughter Alexa Massaro to complete her education.

In case you didn't know...

Ashley Massaro competed in the sport of professional wrestling from 2005 until her retirement from the sport in 2008.

Massaro primarily competed for the WWE, and appeared in several notable angles on WWE TV programming during her time with the company.

However, owing to her daughter, Alexa dealing with an illness at the time; Ashley Massaro parted ways with the WWE in 2008, so as to tend to her young daughter.

The heart of the matter

It was on May 16th, 2019, that Ashley Massaro passed away; with the news of her untimely passing shaking the pro wrestling world to its core.

Massaro was only 39 years of age, and passed away just 10 days before May 26th which would've been her 40th birthday.

The entire professional wrestling world has been sending their thoughts and prayers to the Massaro family at this time...Moreover, prominent pro wrestling personalities such as Lillian Garcia, Mickie James, Lita, Gail Kim, Maria Kanellis, Candice Michelle, Taryn Terrell, Victoria, Christy Hemme, Trish Stratus, etc., have put forth their statements addressed to Alexa Massaro in honor of her mother Ashley.

Furthermore, the additional joint statement put forth by "The Squared Circle Sisters" -- the term that the group of female pro wrestlers use to address themselves -- reads as follows:

"We, the Squared Circle Sisters who had the amazing honor of working with Ashley Massaro in the WWE, have come together to honor Ashley's memory - and to create light and hope in the wake of tragedy. We all knew and loved Ashley and her beautiful spirit. Her smile radiated the entire locker room and arenas everywhere. We also got to know Ashley's incredible daughter Alexa."
"As our way to show Lexi she is not alone, we have started this gofundme campaign to unite us all and show Lexi and her family our love. Every dollar raised will go into an official New York State 529 college savings plan (technical schools, vocational schools and career colleges all included) to provide for Lexi's continued education - which would have made Ashley so happy."
"We invite you to please watch the video we put together & join us by contributing to the cause. Let's keep Ashley's memory alive now and forever!!
