What’s the story?

The WWE has acknowledged CM Punk in its recently released list of RAW’s 25 Greatest Moments.

Ahead of RAW 25, the WWE mentioning Punk on an important list as such, has, in turn, got the professional wrestling community abuzz regarding speculation of the longstanding issues between him and the WWE potentially being in the past.

In case you didn’t know…

CM Punk performed in several notable professional wrestling promotions over the course of his career but rose to prominence in the WWE. However, in early-2014, Punk parted ways with the WWE.

In the months that followed, Punk levied serious allegations against the WWE, accusing the company of forcing him to work while injured and having suffered multiple concussions, nevertheless, none of the allegations were proven in court.

The heart of the matter

While CM Punk moved on to other avenues, including comic book writing and competing in the sport of MMA, the former WWE Champion asserted that he’ll never return to the sport of professional wrestling again.

On the other hand, the WWE bosses, including Vince McMahon have since tried to mend fences with Punk, but to no avail. Resultantly, references to Punk on WWE’s television programming are minimal at best.

Considering that the WWE has seemingly broken its aforementioned rule of thumb regarding Punk references, ahead of RAW’s 25th-anniversary episode that will take place later this month. The WWE has released a comprehensive list of RAW’s 25 Greatest Moments Ever, including CM Punk’s infamous ‘Pipebomb Promo’ at number-2—

Author’s take

Monday Night RAW has given fans the world over several memorable moments since its inception in 1993.

Besides, if Bret Hart could stage a WWE return after the Montreal Screwjob, perhaps CM Punk could let bygones be bygones. Well, the Royal Rumble is known for surprise returns, right? Could we hear ‘Cult of Personality’ at the ‘Rumble later this month? Time will tell.
