What’s the story?

Following the signing of Ricochet earlier today, WWE has now confirmed the signing of former Ring of Honor World Tag Team Champions War Machine. Much like Ricochet, the duo of Warbeard Hanson (Todd Smith) and Raymond Rowe will head down to Orlando, Florida, and start training at the WWE Performance Center.

In case you didn’t know…

War Machine is considered as one of the monstrous tag teams in the world today, the duo of Hanson and Rowe are former two-time IWGP Tag Team Champions and former one-time Ring of Honor Tag Team Champions as well. Ever since their inception in 2014, War Machine has dominated the entire tag team division of the Independent scene all around the US.

War Machine is also former VIP Wrestling Tag Team Champion and is also the first tag team in Pro Wrestling history to hold the WCPW Tag Team Titles and the IWGP Tag Team Titles at the same time.

The heart of the matter

As confirmed by WWE on their official website, one of the most ferocious and dominant tag teams on the planet, War Machine, are on their way to the WWE Performance Center. Weighing at a combined weight of 550 pounds there is absolutely no doubt that War Machine will be able to perfectly fit into the NXT Tag Team division, which already consists of dominant tag teams such as the Authors of Pain, Sanity and Bobby Fish and Kyle O’Reilly.

Furthermore, WWE has also released a statement on their official site and below are a few snippets of from the announcement:

Weighing more than 550 pounds combined, the burly brawlers are every bit as tough as their War Machine moniker suggests. Smith & Rowe have made smash-mouth collisions their stock in trade, yet they're more than just thunderous power; deceptively agile and expertly skilled, the pair has perfected an array of double-team moves, helping them achieve success wherever they go. With a gruff exterior that would look right at home beyond the wall in "Game of Thrones," Smith & Rowe's appearance alone is enough to strike fear into the hearts of opponents.

What’s next?

Being former IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Champions—a set of titles which has been previously won by the duo of Karl Anderson and Luke and The Steiner Brothers—it can be said that War Machine brings a lot to the table in terms of experience.

The duo of Hanson and Rowe are expected to make their debut as part of the NXT brand. Additionally, Raymond Rowe is also engaged to Smackdown Live’s Sarah Logan.

Author’s take

WWE now has signed two absolute behemoths, in the form of Rowe and Hanson, and it is pretty much clear that the arrival of War Machine should put the entire WWE Tag Team division on notice by now.
