What's the story?

Earlier today, former Monday Night Raw General Manager and WWE legend Mick Foley took it to Twitter and had some high praises for the current WWE Champion AJ Styles and current Smackdown Live Tag Team Champions, The Usos following the Clash of Champions pay-per-view.

In case you didn't know...

During last night's Clash of Champions PPV, WWE Smackdown Live Tag Team Champions, The Usos, successfully defended their tag team titles in a fatal four-way match against Aiden English & Rusev, Shelton Benjamin & Chad Gable and The New Day, in a tremendous match.

Similarly, WWE Champion AJ Styles also was on the winning side as he managed to retain his championship in a rematch against former champion Jinder Mahal.

Both Mahal and Styles put up a solid back and forth match and it was one of Jinder Mahal's best in-ring performance till date. However, by the end of the evening, it was Styles who managed to pick up the win by making "The Modern Day Maharaja" tap out to the Calf Crusher.

The heart of the matter

Both Styles and The Usos received a lot of praises from the entire wrestling world, following their amazing performances at Clash of Champions and one notable person who also decided to send his best wishes to the three SmackDown Live superstars was former WWE Champion and Hall of Famer, Mick Foley.

Foley tweeted out claiming that, in his opinion, "The Phenomenal One" is ridiculously good inside the squared circle. The 52-year-old then went on to ask the Twitter world if AJ has ever had a bad match in his entire career. Another one of Foley's tweets saw the former Raw GM giving major credits to The Usos for having such "killer matches" and for perfectly playing their characters.

Foley then added that both Jimmy and Jey verbally put everyone over in their match and also put themselves over in the process.

What's next?

As for both The Usos and AJ Styles, it seems like the two set of champions will now look forward to fresh and new rivalries in 2018, as they look forward to defending their belts at the next pay-per-view, that is, Royal Rumble.

Author's Take

It is always a feel-good moment to see a WWE legend give credits where it's due and seeing Foley praise Styles, Jimmy and Jey was definitely a great gesture.
