What’s the story?

During the latest edition of the Taz Show, wrestling expert Taz discussed the upcoming 205 Live debut of NXT star Roderick Strong and weighed in his thoughts about Strong potentially working under the Cruiserweight Division.

In case you didn’t know…

During last week’s 205 Live episode WWE announced that current NXT superstar Roderick Strong will be taking part in the on-going 16-man Cruiserweight Championship tournament, in order to win the vacant Cruiserweight Title. Strong is currently affiliated with WWE’s developmental territory better known as NXT.

The heart of the matter

While speaking with his co-host Seth Neiman during the latest episode of The Taz Show, former ECW legend Taz commented on Roderick Strong’s upcoming debut on 205 Live. Taz claimed that he is a huge fan of Roderick Strong and loves watching the former Ring of Honor World Champion compete in the ring as well.

Additionally, Taz also thinks that Strong is the type of superstar who is capable of attracting and holding interest towards himself and is a very captivating performer inside the squared circle. However, Taz added that WWE should have Strong focusing on one title, on one show at a particular time, instead of just bouncing around on several different shows.

What’s next?

As noted on this past week’s episode of NXT, Roderick Strong became the new #1 Contender for Pete Dunne’s WWE United Kingdom Title after “The Messiah of Backbreaker” defeated former UK Champion Tyler Bate in a #1 Contenders match. Meanwhile, on the other hand, Strong will square off against his former NXT colleague Hideo Itami next week on 205 Live as part of the 16-man Cruiserweight Title tournament.

Author’s take

I completely agree with Taz’ statement here and I believe that in the current moment, WWE should be utilizing Strong to his full potential on NXT and should rather keep him away from the main roster for the time being.
