WWE’s reality show, Total Divas, could be in for a major rejig, initiated by the franchise, in order to salvage the show and make it the force it was, on the back of some setbacks – reports dailywrestlingnews.com.
The sixth season of the show is set to introduce Lana, Renee Young and Maryse to the cast of the E! Network show.
However, despite WWE wanting to initiate change to the program, they have faced some opposition with the form E! Network, who were displeased with the company’s decision to drop the ‘Divas’ tag.
The top brass of E! as well as the company that produces the show didn’t welcome the change due to the amount of time, money and effort that was invested into establishing Total Divas as a brand. Apparently, the hierarchy are still debating whether renaming the show would be in everyone’s best interest.
It is understood that the WWE top brass are keen on renaming the show as they don’t want people to confuse the term ‘Diva’ with the recently re-branded Women’s division, but are being more accommodating towards E! due to season 5’s disappointing ratings.
