What’s the story?

On December 8, 2017, the WWE officially revealed its' two newest signings, both of whom come from the Middle East. Apparently, Nasser Alruwayeh and Shadia Bseiso are now officially a part of the WWE roster, per a tweet from Triple H himself.

In case you didn’t know…

In February of this year, the WWE held tryouts in Dubai wherein the aforementioned Shadia Bseiso impressed the WWE management. Bseiso, a 31 year old television personality and martial artist, signed up with WWE in October, and the promotion has now reiterated the same.

The heart of the matter

Although not much is known about Nasser Alruwayeh, the WWE has emphasized that he is the first ever performer from Kuwait to be signed by the promotion. Furthermore, the WWE has made history yet again by recruiting Shadia Bseiso, who is the first ever female Arab performer, born and raised in the Middle East, to sign with the WWE.

The professional wrestling community has been abuzz regarding the signing of Bseiso, given her martial arts background in BJJ (Brazilian Jiu Jitsu) and extensive resume of work; known as a charismatic TV presenter in the Middle East.

What’s next?

Fans can expect Nasser Alruwayeh and Shadia Bseiso to start performing for the WWE in the days to come. Although there isn't much video to get a true glimpse of their wrestling talents, we can likely expect them to at least spend some time in the WWE Performance Center to help get acclimated to the USA. From there, they will probably start getting exposure on NXT.

Author’s take

Honestly speaking, Nasser Alruwayeh’s signing may not have gotten a ton of attention in the business. However, WWE recruiting Shadia Bseiso has received considerable mainstream attention in the Middle East.

With the WWE making history and breaking barriers every day, Bseiso’s signing comes as yet another feather in the promotion’s proverbial cap. For those unaware, this woman is an extremely athletic BJJ practitioner. Assuming all goes well in her training, Bseiso may truly surprise many in the business by giving most others in the Women’s Division a run for their money when it comes to charisma and agility.
