What’s the story?

On this week’s episode of WWE NXT, current WWE UK Champion Pete Dunne was seen being confronted backstage by the duo of Trent Seven and Tyler Bate, who are collectively known as the Moustache Mountain.

The three men had a small discussion in the backstage area and teased the possibility of a British Strong Style reunion in the WWE.

In case you didn’t know…

British Strong Style is a UK-based faction that currently consists of current WWE UK Champion Pete Dunne, Tyler Bate, and Trent Seven. The trio is mostly popular because of their work for UK’s Independent promotion, PROGRESS Wrestling.

The group was first formed in 2016 between Trent Seven and Pete Dunne, before the duo added Tyler Bate to their ranks as they started working together as a heel faction. Ever since their inception, the faction has dominated the PROGRESS Wrestling scene, where Dunne previously held the PROGRESS Wrestling Championship and Seven and Bate held the PROGRESS Tag Team Championships.

The group are also known for their work for various other promotions such as Fight Club Pro and Chikara, however, they are yet to be recognised as a stable in the WWE.

The heart of the matter

On this past episode of WWE NXT, Pete Dunne faced off against Johnny Gargano in a one-on-one match with the WWE UK Title on the line.

Following his successful, yet gruelling title defence against Gargano, Dunne was confronted backstage by Tyler Bate and Trent Seven who praised “The Bruiserweight” for his victory over Gargano and said that he made the UK proud with his great performance.

Tyler Bate would then go on and state that Seven and him would like to have Dunne on their side in order to fend off The Undisputed Era— who brutally assaulted their fellow United Kingdom countrymen Wolfgang a few weeks ago. The former UK Champion also added that he trusts “The Bruiserweight” and would like to form a British Strong Style tag team among themselves.

However, Dunne would go onto leave scene without handing out any sort of reply to Bate and Seven.

What’s next?

It is pretty much clear that WWE is now looking forward to reunite the BSS in NXT and there is also a strong possibility that the WWE Universe could witness a mega six-man tag team match between Adam Cole’s faction, The Undisputed Era and British Strong Style in the near future.

Author’s Take

There is a strong possibility that Dunne and the rest of the BSS could be leaving the Indies really soon and sign a full-time contract with the WWE.

If they eventually do sign with WWE, then we can surely expect to see the trio back together on NXT and I also think that a match between Undisputed Era and British Strong Style is going to be off the charts.
