WWE News: WWE veterans on shelf due to limited creative options

Veterans shelved due to lack of air time

Ever since WrestleMania, the product has been injected with new blood and it is working quite favorably for WWE. Though the product is filled with new talented faces, many have been wondering where the old veterans had went.

WWE veterans like Kane, Big Show and Mark Henry has been notably absent from WWE programming for past few weeks. As a result, the newer set of talents had gained more air time and are also starting to make a name for themselves. This has left the veterans in a bad spot.

It is recently revealed that WWE Creative doesn’t have anything meaningful to do with the veterans and thus they have been on shelf for the period of more than one month. It is a well known fact that lot of talents in WWE doesn’t get enough air time to establish themselves and make themselves feel relevant to the current time. This has hurt the credibility of superstars a lot.

The limited air time has created a lot of problems relating to the talent management and it is imperative that WWE brings the brand split soon to sort out this issue. Though superstars like Big Show and Kane are well past their prime, none could argue the star power that they bring to the table. Mark Henry, who has always been vocal about his position in WWE has stated the following last year to indicate that he may not wish to continue doing this anymore.

“I don’t know how I let Vince [McMahon] convince me into signing another contract back in 2013. He did a bit of magic. He’s got that magic where you just go in the office and he’ll talk you into it. I won’t be signing any more contracts. I’m an elder statesman. This is a young guy business and I’m 100 percent for it. I love the marketing process. I love the international marketing. I love the talent development, but those are all things I’ll work with the company on to make sure that our business continues to thrive, but there’s a bunch of other stuff that I plan on doing.”

Though Mark Henry has expressed his desire to hang up his boots in the past, superstars like Kane and Big Show still feel that they could perform well and are not open to retirement. These superstars do not have much left in their body and it would be wise for WWE to put them to use before it might not be possible anymore
