WWE News: WWE's UK TV show premiere date revealed

What’s the story?

The premiere date for WWE’s UK TV show has been revealed which will premiere on the WWE Network this Thursday at 8 pm ET.

In case you didn’t know...

In order to further consolidate its standing in the UK, the WWE announced the first-ever WWE UK Championship Tournament, in December. Earlier this year, in January, Tyler Bate won the tournament and became the maiden WWE UK Champion and has held on to the title since.

The championship will serve as the top prize on the new show. The WWE UK TV show was announced last month on WWE 205 Live in the presence of Trent Seven, Pete Dunne, Wolfgang, Mark Andrews and Bate. Interestingly, the WWE UK TV show was taped last weekend in Norwich, England and will be called by the much-loved Jim Ross.

The heart of the matter

Touted to be ‘an unforgettable special event’, the WWE UK TV show is expected to feature stars from the above mentioned WWE UK Championship Tournament. Moreover, some stars from 205 Live will also feature on the show.

It will premiere on Thursday at 8 pm on the WWE Network and will be a 90-minute-long event. Interestingly, it is going to go head to head with Impact Wrestling.

What’s next?

As things stand, the WWE plans to have weekly shows in the UK. As such, one can expect them to head back and film more shows in the near future.

It will be worth watching whether the WWE UK TV show lives up to expectations and manages to garner good ratings. If the show proves to be a success, it’ll help WWE become even popular in the UK.

Moreover, it’ll serve as a nice platform for upcoming talents like Bate to showcase their abilities to the fullest. Besides this, it’ll also mean that the 205 Live roster will get more exposure and viewership.
