After missing out on this year’s WWE Royal Rumble match, former Intercontinental Champion and Smackdown superstar Zack Ryder has expressed his feelings on his omission from the 30-man Rumble match via a recent heartfelt tweet.

In case you didn’t know…

Zack Ryder first signed with the WWE back in 2005 and after spending two years down at WWE’s developmental territory, he was promoted to the main roster in 2007. During his run on the main roster, Ryder has been one of the most underutilized stars in all of WWE, however, back in 2016, the Long Island native captured the WWE Intercontinental Championship at Wrestlemania 32 when he defeated six other superstars to win one of the most prestigious titles in all of Professional Wrestling.

The heart of the matter

In a recent tweet, Zack Ryder commented on being left out of the Royal Rumble match this year. Ryder stated that this was not the first time he has sat and watched a Royal Rumble match from backstage and the last time it happened he went on to win the Intercontinental Championship three months later at WrestleMania (Referring to his WM 32 win).

Ryder added, he has no complaints about missing this year’s Rumble match and he is definitely not someone who is going to quit. The former Intercontinental Champion additionally wrote in his tweet that he is someone who will keep working harder and will overcome every adversity, and that has been the story of his career and his life so far.

What’s next?

Zack Ryder now has the opportunity to become the new #1 Contender for Bobby Roode’s United States Championship at this week’s Smackdown Live. Ryder is set to compete in a fatal four-way match which also involves Rusev, Jinder Mahal, and Kofi Kingston, later tonight.

There is definitely no doubt on how talented Zack Ryder is inside the squared circle and the 32-year-old certainly deserves a long championship reign either with the US or IC Title.
