WWE News: Zack Ryder thinks Mojo Rawley should team with Curt Hawkins
Zack Ryder has an unusual partner for Mojo Rawley against the Wyatt Family for the Tag Team Championships.
Zack Ryder has had a difficult year, with the latest hit coming after he injured his knee in the battle royal to determine the number one contenders for the WWE SmackDown Tag Team Championships.
In a battle royal that featured the likes of the America Alpha, the Vaudevillains, Slater and Rhyno, Breezango and the Ascension, Ryder picked up the win for the Hype Bros as he was the last man remaining in the ring.
However, Ryder’s knee injury may prove to be a hurdle in his way of competing for tag team gold. Ryder recently tweeted that his partner Mojo Rawley should, in fact, team up with none other than Curt Hawkins in his absence. Ryder wrote on Twitter:
After the match, Ryder had to be helped out of the ring and was taken to the trainer’s room. In an announcement on WWE.com, it was revealed that Ryder has suffered a knee injury and was walking with the assistance of crutches. Ryder said that it felt like his knee had popped out and then back into its socket.
However, WWE official decided to conduct an MRI scan before commenting on the severity of the injury.
WWE physicians diagnosed that the injury sustained by Ryder was to the kneecap or patella. There was a feeling that he might have been able to go through a short rehab if he had no cartilage damage or a tendon tear.
However, grim news greeted Ryder the reports stated that he had ruptured a tendon. The Woo Woo Woo Kid might now be out of action as he battles to recover from a ruptured patellar tendon. Ryder underwent surgery a couple of days ago and will have to wear a protective knee brace for the next six weeks at least.
