What's the story?

In the aftermath to their epic IWGP Intercontinental Championship main event at NJPW Sengoku, New Japan star Zack Sabre Jr. took to his official Instagram handle and seemingly took a shot at WWE, mocking them in the process.

In case you didn't know...

Zack Sabre Jr. is one of the finest technical wrestlers' on the planet today and prior to signing with NJPW, 'The Technical Wizard' competed for some of the well renowned Independent promotions all around the world and in the UK as well.

ZSJ was also a part of WWE's inaugural Cruiserweight Classic Tournament, along with Japanese sensation Kota Ibushi, who also competed in the tournament and also wrestled under the NXT brand for a limited amount of time.

Both Ibushi and ZSJ were eventually eliminated from the Cruiserweight Classic in the semi-final stage and eventually shifted their focus towards their careers on the Land of The Rising Sun.

The heart of the matter

At last night's NJPW Sengoku show, current Rev Pro British Heavyweight Champion, Zack Sabre Jr. failed to capture the IWGP Intercontinental Championship following an intense singles battle with Kota Ibushi.

After putting together yet another instant classic, ZSJ took to his Twitter handle and noted that both him and Kota Ibushi apparently made the right choice of sticking with NJPW and judging by the fashion of his tweet, it seemed like Zack took a shot at WWE in the process as well, considering that they would've put both men under the 205 Live brand.

What's next?

Zack Sabre Jr. will be looking to shift his focus on the UK scene once again, as he prepares to defend his RevPro British Heavyweight Title against new fresh up and comer challengers.

Kota Ibushi, on the other hand, might just end up defending his Intercontinental Championship against former champion Tetsuya Naito once more. Nevertheless, Ibushi has now officially signed with NJPW, so that right there is definitely big and good news for all New Japan fans.
